The Municipality of Varna will cooperate with the National Tourism Board, Concerning Project for a second Bridge

Construction of second bridge over Varna Lake - "Asparuhov Brdge 2" is planned in the near future. The project represents the first of the three variants for the construction of “Cherno More” highway.
The other project foresees that the track way should pass through Asparuhov Bridge, but it is actually impracticable, because thus the city centre will be blocked, the transport minister Petar Mutavchiev said. The high-speed segment will be part of Euro-corridor 8, which connects the Albanian city of Duras with Skopje and the Bulgarian Varna and Bourgas.
The third variant, which was discussed about a month ago, foresees that the highway should pass through Aitos and Provadia and thus connects to “Hemus” Highway. It sounds profitable, because it will save 15 km, but in the same time bypasses Varna with 55 km.
Meanwhile Varna became one of the first municipalities, which signed a cooperation agreement with the National Tourism Board. The local authority and the business organizations will work on joint projects for tourism developments in the municipality.
Varna Municipality will invest 1 million EUR for cameras, which will be installed on the crossing roads, the entrances and the exits of the city and the resorts in the municipality. The cameras will regulate the traffic, the municipality mayor said.
