26 cruise liners are to visit the sea port of Varna this season. 6 of them have already passed through the sea capital of Bulgaria.
According to the sea port master in Varna - Captain Valentin Kitanov this season the port will welcome more tourist compared to last year. On 26 April the first liner “Victoria” arrived. Then the Holland “Rotterdam”, “Spirit of Adventure” and the Israel “Iris” followed. Now the sailing exhibits of the Turkish ferry “Samsun” are taking place in Varna.

Construction of second bridge over Varna Lake - "Asparuhov Brdge 2" is planned in the near future. The project represents the first of the three variants for the construction of “Cherno More” highway.

New hotel complex is planned to be built in Gabarnitsa village in Vetrino municipality, 34 km west of Varna. The complex consists of one-stored houses with private toilet and bathroom and modern furniture. There will be 5 courtyards with garden and barbeque. The project has to be finished in 2 years and it will spreads on 3.5 decares. It will to develop the rural tourism in the region.

The State Agency for Tourism and National Board for Tourism organize an opening ceremony of the tourist season – Summer 2007 on April 20th, the Board’s press office told Radio Focus-Varna.

Discovery team is staying in the moment in the village of Durankulak (near the town of Shabla), preparing to shoot a movie about the historical finds in the region.

In three years the coastal city of Varna is to have a new stadium and sports complex. The facility will meet all FIFA requirements for a football stadium, Focus Sport agency reported. The project was presented on February 7 in Varna’s municipality. The currently used city stadium will be torn down and the place will be used for the construction of the new facility.
