New city hotel opens in Varna

The local Hotel Investment company has launched a new hotel in Varna, on the Black Sea, which will target affluent Western travellers. The Internet-ready Modus hotel has 35 rooms and a 30-seat conference room. Hotel Investment said it will manage the 1.5 mln euro hotel but did not rule out the possibility that it may join one of the international hotel chains that have entered the Bulgarian market. Varna City - Summer Capital of Bulgaria

Varna is the largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, 3rd largest in Bulgaria after the capital of Sofia and Plovdiv city (Central Bulgaria).

Varna is 91st-largest in the EU, with a population of 357,752.

Varna Presents Hardcore Punk Fest 'East Noise Attack' 2

Second Hardcore festival from the serial ‘East Noise Attack' will take place on August 18-19 in the hardcore capital of Bulgaria - the city of Varna.
This was announced by the organizers of ‘Zone 51 Booking'. The event will be open air next to Varna's prison in north industrial city zone.

The last edition of the ‘Attack' took place in Sofia on March 17 and was the first performance of Varna hardcore punk bands in Sofia from a long time.

“Energy Forum 2007” Starts in Varna

400 Bulgarian and 53 foreign specialists in the field of energy will take part in the “Energy forum 2007”, which will be held in the 'St. Konstantin and Elena' resort in the next 4 days.

The Plenary session will be opened by Konstantin Shushulov, chairman of State Energy and Water Regulation Commission, Darik radio informed. During the forum, a total of 126 reports will be delivered. Bulgarians will Meet 19 000 Tourists Coming from Cruise Liners

26 cruise liners are to visit the sea port of Varna this season. 6 of them have already passed through the sea capital of Bulgaria.

According to the sea port master in Varna - Captain Valentin Kitanov this season the port will welcome more tourist compared to last year. On 26 April the first liner “Victoria” arrived. Then the Holland “Rotterdam”, “Spirit of Adventure” and the Israel “Iris” followed. Now the sailing exhibits of the Turkish ferry “Samsun” are taking place in Varna.

Conference for Yachting Tourism Opportunities in Riviera Beach Resort

The representatives of the yacht business in Bulgaria and reps of different state departments will take part in discussion for the development of yachting and sailing tourism in Bulgaria.

The Municipality of Varna will cooperate with the National Tourism Board, Concerning Project for a second Bridge

Construction of second bridge over Varna Lake - "Asparuhov Brdge 2" is planned in the near future. The project represents the first of the three variants for the construction of “Cherno More” highway.

The other project foresees that the track way should pass through Asparuhov Bridge, but it is actually impracticable, because thus the city centre will be blocked, the transport minister Petar Mutavchiev said. The high-speed segment will be part of Euro-corridor 8, which connects the Albanian...

New hotel complex is planned to be built in Gabarnitsa village

New hotel complex is planned to be built in Gabarnitsa village in Vetrino municipality, 34 km west of Varna. The complex consists of one-stored houses with private toilet and bathroom and modern furniture. There will be 5 courtyards with garden and barbeque. The project has to be finished in 2 years and it will spreads on 3.5 decares. It will to develop the rural tourism in the region.

Summer season opens on April 20 in Varna

The State Agency for Tourism and National Board for Tourism organize an opening ceremony of the tourist season – Summer 2007 on April 20th, the Board’s press office told Radio Focus-Varna.
A conference titled “Security and Integrated Development of Infrastructure – Investment in Bulgaria’s Tourism” is to be held on April 21st. Bulgarian Interior Minister Rumen Petkov, Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev and Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Asen Gagauzov are to participate.

The Discovery Channel in Durankulak

Discovery team is staying in the moment in the village of Durankulak (near the town of Shabla), preparing to shoot a movie about the historical finds in the region.

The coastal region of North-Eastern Bulgaria is still one of the less built-up areas on the Black sea.

The archaeologist Todor Dimov will show to the "Discovery" team, the villa hill, that dates from 5 century B.C. The hill near Durankulak is entirely examined and there are 8 constructional horizons found.
