Round 250,000 Russians are expected to visit Bulgaria during the coming summer season.
This was informed by the consul general of the Russian federation in Varna city Anatolii Shtelkunov, quoted by the Standart daily.

By the end of January 2008, the Transport and Communications Ministry would prepare a memorandum on the construction of a new container terminal in Varna and the transformation of the Varna East Port into a tourist area, Varna municipal council chair Borislav Goutsanov said.

The city of Varna, located on the Northern Black Sea coast and often referred to as the summer capital of Bulgaria, is the best town to live in, according to a survey.
The poll was conducted by the leading local media private Darik radio, 24 Hours daily and the news portal DarikNews.bg and compared the quality of life in 35 of the biggest towns in Bulgaria. Wizz Air announced the launch of new flights from the capital Sofia to the coastal town of Varna, becoming the first low-cost airline to operate domestic flights in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria expects profits accounting for 2.5 bln. EUR from its tourism branch until the end of the current year.
