250,000 Russians Expected to Visit Bulgaria in Summer

Round 250,000 Russians are expected to visit Bulgaria during the coming summer season.
This was informed by the consul general of the Russian federation in Varna city Anatolii Shtelkunov, quoted by the Standart daily.
According to his words the number of the Russian holiday makers is increasing every year. In 2007 their number reached 200,000 people.

Varna Municipality with a Ski Track

Only 50 km from Varna a real paradise for snow lovers appears.
The ski track is located in Valchi Dol, in “Koshu Bair” area and attracts skiers and snowboarders from Varna and Dobrich. Many people prefer going there in the weekend, because the prices are really affordable. New Container Port Terminal Cconstruction in Varna to Start by End 2008

By the end of January 2008, the Transport and Communications Ministry would prepare a memorandum on the construction of a new container terminal in Varna and the transformation of the Varna East Port into a tourist area, Varna municipal council chair Borislav Goutsanov said.

Ferryboat Line Bulgaria-Russia To be Opened

Agreement of a direct ferryboat line between Bulgaria and Russia will be signed during Vladimir Putin's visit in Bulgaria, announced Standart daily.
Probably the track will connect Varna and Novorossiysk

Coastal Varna Crowned the Best Town to Live in Bulgaria

The city of Varna, located on the Northern Black Sea coast and often referred to as the summer capital of Bulgaria, is the best town to live in, according to a survey.

The poll was conducted by the leading local media private Darik radio, 24 Hours daily and the news portal DarikNews.bg and compared the quality of life in 35 of the biggest towns in Bulgaria. The First Driving Range on the Black Sea Coast is Now Open

No-frills Wizz Air flies Sofia-Varna

Wizz Air announced the launch of new flights from the capital Sofia to the coastal town of Varna, becoming the first low-cost airline to operate domestic flights in Bulgaria.
The maiden flight will take off on 12 July 2008 and will be initially operated four times a week.
Regular one-way fares start from EUR 9.99, including all taxes and charges.

Bulgaria Expects 2.5 Bln EUR from Tourism, Could Do Four Times Better

Bulgaria expects profits accounting for 2.5 bln. EUR from its tourism branch until the end of the current year. This was the opinion of the chairman of the Bulgarian Tourism association, Mr. Tsvetan Tonchev, during the thirtieth edition of the "Tourism and leisure time fair", which is taking place in the port of Varna.
