Tango marathon starts in august in Varna

The Tango marathon is an event, which gathers tango dancers from all over the world, united by their passion for tango. Students project an artificial island nearby Varna

10 teams of Students – architects and designers will create the hotel and attraction infrastructure on the island.

The project of an artificial island right in front of the St. St. Constantine and Elene resort is the task of an international architecture student competition, which will take place until the end of the week in the tourism complex.

Bulgaria's Varna City Hall Bans Summer Season Construction

All construction in resorts near Bulgaria's Black sea capital Varna is banned, beginning May 15, over the opening of the summer season.

The order was issued Tuesday by the Mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov.

According to the order, all unfinished sites must be secured, cleaned and cultivated while construction waste must also be removed by May 15, during the hours of 8 am and 10 am and 4 pm and 8 pm.

Violators will be fined up to BGN 10 000.

A record number of participants joined the folklore holiday in Suvorovo

A record number of participants joined the third edition of the folklore festival “Like a live water” in Suvorovo. This year the event took place on 01 and 02 may. More than 90 individual performers and 63 ensembles entertained all guests and residents of Suvorvo.

The festival “Like a live water” is part of the holiday of Suvorovo town, which is traditionally celebrated on 01 may.

Moscow mayor and Bulgaria’s Prime Minister attend official vacation complex opening

The mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov will officially attend the opening of the Russian children’s vacation complex in Kamchia seside resort in Bulgaria.

The opening ceremony will take place on August 26 2010.

Construction of the Russian vacation complex started in September 2009. Moscow city council invested over 100 billion euro in the project. The construction of a yacht port is another planned part of the vacation complex.

The Tall Ship Regatta in Varna Expects Over 200 000 Tourists in May

Varna expects over 250 000 tourists for the sailing regatta “Tall Ships Historical seas 2010” in May. This was announced by the head of the Municipal council – Borislav Gutsanov. Seven of the biggest ships in class “A” are expected to participate in the competition. More than 10 of the most attractive sailing ships will participate in the competition.

Regular flights from Varna to Saint-Petersburg will be opened in April

Regular flights will start operating from Varna to Saint-Petersburg, announced the press office of Varna airport.

The flights will be operates on Tuesdays and Fridays. Another regular line will be opened from Varna to Ekaterininburg on 07 June. The summer schedule of the airport will be valid from 28 march.

Varna Becomes a Centre for Sport Tourism

The municipality administration plans to transform Varna into a centre for sport tourism. This was announced by the mayor of Varna Mr. Cyril Yordanov. In 2010 Varna will host two European competitions for modern pentathlon.
The mayor announced that the new base for extreme sports in Asparuhovo neighbourhood will be used for some of the sport events.
