Varna Airport will close for reconstruction

Varna airport will close for reconstruction after the end of the summer season for the period 15 October 2011 – 28 February 2012. Most air companies are now considering redirecting flights to Bourgas airport. Bulgaria air announced that all completed bookings will be redirected to Bourgas airport, where passengers will be transported to Varna by buses. The bus transfer will be additionally announced.

New little octopus in Varna aquarium

One month old octopus from the Indian ocean is the new member of Varna aquarium, reported radio “Focus” - Varna.

The little octopus is long over 30 centimeters. More than 100 offers for names was given in a competition for choosing the name to the new member of the aquarium.

Dolphins herd in the sea near "Trakata", Varna

In the sea waters near Varna place “Trakata” people can see a herd of dolphins.

The herd is consist of more than 30 big dolphins. Fisher mans in the area said that it is a usual natural attraction.

Dolphins followed a passage of small fish witch is hiding in the shore rocks. The beautiful view makes fisher mans discontent because dolphins scared the fish.

International theater festival started in Varna

The nineteenth edition of the International theater festival “Varna Summer” started today in Varna.

Festival will start with the performance “As you like it” by William Shakespeare in the theater “Bulgarian Army” and a concert of Ibrahimova and the Varna Chamber Orchestra conducted by Gancho Ganchev.

Museum of Astronautics to be built in Kamchiya Complex

A Museum of Astronautics will be situated in the future building of a school in the Kamchiya complex, near the city of Varna.

A planetarium, an Aviation and Astronautics Museum and a real simulator will be part of the future school building.

The panoramic road Varna – Golden Sands will be restored by a overhead road

The panoramic road Varna – Golden Sands will be restored by a overhead road, announced the mayor of Varna, Mr Cyril Yordanov. The installation will be 300 – 400 metres long.

The preliminary project is already completed. The overhead road will prove a two line road, bicycle alley, as well as a panoramic platform. Over 70 000 tourists visited Aladzha monastery in 2010

Over 70 000 tourists visited Aladzha Monastery in 2010. Over 10 000 of them have watched the light spectacle “Legends from Aladzha Monastery”, announced the director of the monastery.

Visitors are predominately Russian tourists, who are impressed by the show, as the subject of the story is close to the Russian culture. Tourists from the Czech republic and Poland are also interested in the spectacle.
