The Mayor of the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Varna Kiril Yordanov announced Monday his administration was putting forth a project for the construction of a ski track in the Vladislavovo Quarter.
The Varna Municipality has received an investment offer by the European and Bulgarian Ski Federations for the constructing of ski track there. The details of the project will be considered by experts next week.

Varna municipality said it looked at Sofia as an example for its decision to introduce a paid-parking zone in the city. Different from Sofia's "blue zone" however, Varna decided to call it the "green zone", Bulgarian-language zagrada.bg said.
Traffic was a major problem for the city and reason for the municipality to decide to establish three zones for paid parking in the city, deputy mayor Svilen Kraychev told Bulgarian news agency BTA.

Bulgaria was becoming increasingly popular destination “for curious Brits”, the Sunday Sun newspaper, which covers the north-east of England, reported.
“Affordable, welcoming and varied in the scale of activities on offer for beach bums, skiers and all types in between, Bulgaria is attracting holiday-makers and investors,” the newspaper said.

About 100 000 Swedish tourists visit Bulgaria every year. This was announced by the Swedish ambassador, Bertil Roth when he was on a visit in Varna.
He had an official meeting with the mayor of the sea capital, Kiril Yordanov. The mayor said that Bulgaria has the potential to increase the number of the Swedish guests. This was the third visitation of the Swedish ambassador in Varna.

Varna's Mayor Kiril Yordanov and Krasimir Uzunov, Executive Director of Mall Varna cut the ribbon and officially opened the biggest shopping center in Bulgaria Thursday.

The number of Boeing 747s jetting to and from the Varna airport, on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, will double this summer, said airport PRO Meliha Kasacheva.
Eight flights of Russian carrier Transaero are scheduled on Mondays, generating a traffic of 2,800 passengers.
This summer, Varna will appear for the first time on the destination rosters of four airlines.
